While Saif Ali Khan continues his stint with unconventional choices, the actor is now gearing up to do a film with Aanand L. Rai production. The film in question is to be directed by Navdeep Singh and will see Saif reuniting with his Rehna Hai Tere Dil Mein co-star R Madhavan.

The duo, who hasn’t shared screen space since this Hindi film that marked the debut of former beauty queen Dia Mirza in 2001, will however be, seen in a completely different avatar in this directorial. Talking about the film, we hear that it is a historical tale, a period drama set against the backdrop of Rajasthan.

From what we hear, the untitled project will also have elements of action with Saif and R Madhavan taking up training sessions in sword fighting and horse riding for the film. Furthermore, it is also being said that the film will make use of prosthetics but the details for the same is kept under wraps for now.

There are also reports about Zoya Hussain who made her debut with the last Aanand L. Rai production Mukkabaaz being signed on as a leading lady. Deepak Dobriyal too is said to be a part of the film. However, an official announcement on all the details is yet awaited.

On the other hand, Navdeep Singh had earlier announced that his next directorial was Kaneda which was supposed to see him reunite with his NH10 producer Anushka Sharma with the actress too playing a prominent role in the film. However, we hear that the modalities didn’t work out and Navdeep decided to bow out of it.

As of now, Navdeep Singh is said to have locked the details of this untitled period drama. It is expected to be extensively shot in Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Mumbai with the first schedule kicking off in February in Rajasthan.

The day of Saraswati Puja is regarded a very auspicious day in the life of artists, students and teachers around the country. What better day than this one for the team of Super 30 to start their journey for the film as it tells the story of a teacher and his students.

On this positive day, Hrithik Roshan took to Twitter and shared a message seeking blessings of the Goddess. He said, “On the auspicious day of Saraswati Puja and Basant Panchami, I am beginning my journey of Super 30 where I am playing a teacher for the first time. May the Goddess of learning bless this effort.”

Hrithik Roshan will be seen playing Anand Kumar in the film, a math genius and teacher of 30 meritorious and talented candidates each year from economically backward sections for the entrance examination for Indian Institute of Technology. The team will be starting the shoot for the film soon and preparations for the same have kick-started today.

It is for the first time that Hrithik Roshan will be seen playing the role of a teacher. Reliance Entertainment and Phantom Films’ Super 30, directed by Vikas Bahl, is set to release on 23rd November 2018.

If Hrithik Roshan is busy brushing up his Bihari accent to play his Bihari character in Vikas Bahl’s Super 30, Shahid Kapoor is equally busy doing up his Garhwali accent. The shooting of Shahid Kapoor’s next film Batti Gul Meter Chalu is about to begin from February 9. Shahid who plays a local from Uttarakhand is leaving no stone unturned to ensure authenticity in his portrayal. The actor known to follow a method in the madness of Bollywood’s filmmaking, has immersed himself completely in the process of getting into character going as far as to hire a language coach from Uttarakhand.

Shahid’s dedication to getting into character has left the Batti Gul Meter Chalu producer Prernaa Arora speechless. “I’ve very rarely seen such passion and dedication in any actor. Shahid Kapoor is completely involved in getting his character right. He is getting the clothes, the body language and the spoken language right. He has hired a coach to learn the local language. It’s very inspiring for a relatively new producer like me to work with an actor so focused. I am enjoying the experience of working with Shahid Kapoor.”

Shahid moves to Uttarkhand from the first week of February. Batti Gul Meter Chalu, which will highlight the shortage of electricity in rural areas, will hit the floors in the first week of February and will finish shooting by April 2018. The film will be shot in a start-to-finish schedule in Rishikesh, Tehri, Haridwar, Mussoorie and Nainital. It is slated to release on August 31, 2018.

Apart from this our source also tells us that ZEE has shelled out a bomb to rope in the actress for their web series. While an official announcement of the show and Sunny Leone’s presence is being awaited, we for one can’t wait to see what the show will be.

Back on the film front, Sunny Leone’s last cinematic out was the Arbaaz Khan starrer Tera Intezaar that released a while back. As of now, the actress who is busy with plenty of endorsements and show hosting is yet to announce her next venture.

Rani Mukerji is going the extra mile to spread the sensitive message of her forthcoming film Hichki. She has devised a plan that will see her promoting the film in five different local languages in an attempt to reach out to more audiences and inform them about this special film.

“Rani will be promoting the film in Marathi, Bengali, Punjabi, Hindi and Bhojpuri to reach out to as many audiences as possible. She believes in the message of Hichki and she is leaving no stone unturned to talk to as many people as possible. This local language promotional plan will see Rani record innovative TV content in five local languages to make the film even more relevant in these markets,” says an informer.

Rani explains, “Hichki is a story that has inspired me as an actor and as a person – to do my best and reach out to as many people as possible. I feel the responsibility to talk about the important matters that Hichki is trying to tell. The more people I can spread the message to, the better. Hichki focuses on turning a weakness to one’s advantage against all odds. It talks about discrimination, prejudice, social stigma and how we can overcome them with positivity and a lot of hard work. Hichki is an extremely relevant film and it attempts to make our world a better place.”

Hichki narrates the story of Naina Mathur (played by Rani) who has a nervous system disorder, Tourette Syndrome that forces an individual to make involuntary repetitive movements or sounds. Hichki focusses on turning disadvantages into opportunities and staring down at challenges that life throws at one and ultimately winning over them.

Hichki is also a subtle reminder about discrimination that exists in our society and has become a part of our daily lives. It highlights this through the story of Naina, who faces discrimination from our society that firmly believes she cannot be a teacher because of her disorder. Progressive, brave and positive, the movie is about celebrating the power of will and determination.

Directed by Siddharth P Malhotra and produced by Maneesh Sharma, the movie is set to touch the hearts of audiences when it releases on February 23.

Post Sanjay Dutt biopic, Rajkumar Hirani to produce film starring Varun Dhawan?

Rajkumar Hirani is currently busy with the Ranbir Kapoor starrer that is said to be a biopic based on Sanjay Dutt. While the film is still a long way from release, we hear that Hirani is already contemplating his next. In fact, sources tell us that once he completes work on the Sanjay Dutt biopic Rajkumar Hirani is all set to commence work on a film that will star none other than the gen next actor Varun Dhawan.

If that wasn’t all, we also hear that unlike his previous ventures that saw Hirani partner with Vidhu Vinod Chopra, as the producer, this one will be solely produced by Rajkumar Hirani. Though the reason for the two parting ways is unknown, the yet untitled venture with Varun is slated to go on floors in mid-January next year.

Though currently an official confirmation on the same, as well as details of what the film will be exactly is unavailable, our sources tell us that the said film will release either in Diwali or Christmas 2019.

By now we all know that Akshay Kumar, who has always been pretty vocal about his support for the armed forces, launched the initiative Bharat Ke Veer. Recently at a function in Delhi the actor was present when the anthem for the initiative was launched with singer Kailash Kher performing on stage. Apart from this, the recently held function also acted as fundraiser for the armed forces.

Taking to the micro blogging site, Twitter Akshay Kumar shared a video of the performance by Kailash Kher saying, “At the #BharatKeVeer Anthem launch sung by @Kailashkher. While they keep us alive, the least we can do is keep them alive in our hearts. Bharat ke veeron, tumko naman”. Later the actor also went on to talk about the fundraiser while thanking those who contributed and the Minister of Home Affairs, Rajnath Singh saying, “No amount of gratitude is enough for our soldiers. We managed to raise Rs. 12.93 crores today! Grateful to all the people who came and showed their support at the #BharatKeVeer Anthem launch. Special thank you to Hon. @rajnathsingh ji for this platform.”

Back on the film front, Akshay Kumar who had a brilliant run at the box office in 2017 with Jolly LLB 2, Naam Shabana and Toilet: Ek Prem Katha doing well at the box office, is all set for his next release Pad Man. Directed by R. Balki and also featuring Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte, Pad Man that was initially slated for release on January 25 will now release on February 9. Post Pad Man, Akshay will also be seen in the Rajinikanth starrer 2.0, followed by Gold and Kesari.

Back in 2010 we saw the release of the Salmna Khan starrer Dabangg, two years later the sequel to the film Dabangg 2 hit screens in 2012. Now years on, we finally hear that Salman Khan is all set to commence work on the third instalment of the film Dabangg 3. As per reports, Dabangg 3 is all set to go on floors in April this year, with an official announcement on the film that will happen in the next couple of weeks.

Though details of the story line of Dabangg 3 are still unknown, we are told that the film, like the previous two will feature Salman Khan in his action packed role as the cop Chulbul Pandey. However, another interesting part about Dabangg 3 that we managed to glean was that, while the film will go on floors in April, it is being readied to release later this year in December. If the makers of Dabangg 3 do manage to complete the film in time, the Salman Khan starrer will in all likelihood clash with any one of the other big releases slated for a December 2018 release.

As of now, all that remains to be seen, is which date Salman Khan locks for the release of Dabangg 3. As it currently stands, Ajay Devgn’s Total Dhamaal is slated for release on December 7, followed by Shah Rukh Khan’s Zero that will hit screens on December 21 and Ranveer Singh’s Simmba that is scheduled to release on December 28 release.
